Nidja Tuart, marlap Wuruk (Here Tuart, there Salmon Gum)

Friday 28th February 2020

Paper Mounain's is taking exhibitions out of our space and bringing them to YOU with Forward Bound: a roving exhibition program...

Join us for the closing event of Nidja Tuart, marlap Wuruk (Here Tuart, there Salmon Gum), an exhibition of new works by Yabini (Yaah-bn-ee) Kickett, Yabini Arts

Yabini's works are made with animal remains, natural pigments and found objects from country and her home, connecting her to her family and reminding her of a time and place – Specifically within Bibulmun/Noongar Boodja. Each piece is stitched, glued, bonded and woven with care and ritual. They are her memories and koort (heart).

The exhibition is open to the public from the 25th of February to the 29th of February 2020.

Paper Mountain operates on the stolen lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and extend solidarity and friendship and hope for a future where all are afforded justice, dignity, and peace. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
